This course is for anyone who enjoys fresh bread and wants to learn traditional bread-making techniques. It’s suitable for complete beginners as well as home bakers who want to refine their skills and understand the differences between tinned loaves and hand-shaped breads like bloomers.

What will I study?

· The basics of bread-making: mixing, kneading, proving, and shaping
· How to bake a classic white or wholemeal tinned loaf
· Techniques for shaping, scoring, and baking a traditional bloomer
· Understanding yeast, gluten development, and proving times
· Tips for achieving a good rise, flavour, and crust

How will the course be delivered?
The course will be delivered through practical, hands-on baking sessions with tutor demonstrations and step-by-step guidance. Learners will make their own loaves from start to finish.

You’ll take home freshly baked bread, along with recipes, tips, and the confidence to bake tinned loaves and bloomers in your own kitchen.
