This course is designed to act as an introduction to the exciting world of 3D animation and modelling for beginners. Animation is a rapidly growing industry with multiple applications and the principles learned within this course can be applied to almost any moving medium. This is the perfect course to begin learning animation from a beginners level.

Animation is a rapidly growing industry with multiple applications and the principles learned within this course can be applied to almost any moving medium. This is the perfect course to begin learning animation from a beginners level.

What will I study?

The course will span six weeks, with each session covering a different element of fundamental animation skills.

1. Intro to 3D Animation: Using Autodesk Maya
2. Principles of Animation. How to create movement in 3D
3. Modelling Introduction: How to create a simple object
4. Full Body Movement: Animating a rigged character
5. More Body Movement: Animating that character even more
6. Putting it all together: Finishing touches, sound and export

Entry Requirements

There are no specific requirements for this course, other than enthusiasm and passion for learning new skills.

How will I be assessed?

Each week will have a different task to be completed that fits into the given theme of that session. There is no formal summative assessment, though verbal feedback will be given during sessions.
