Job Description
This role will be to manufacture commercial soft furnishings using modern sewing machines.
Role specific:
- Utilise modern sewing machines to manufacture all or part of curtains and other soft furnishings
- Utilise a range of programs and machines such as lockstitch, overlockers, pinch pleat, and blind hemmers to produce different items and finishes
- Alter machine settings depending on the material and finish required
- Carryout basic machine maintenance including changing needles, oiling, and cleaning on a regular basis
- Ensure quality of own work by exercising attention to detail and proactively rectifying any faults
- Ensure manufactured items match requirements as specified on the job sheet
General:
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies
- Ensure own work area is always clean and tidy
- Undertake other tasks as requested by line manager
- Contribute to continuous improvement by providing ideas and suggestions
