 Job Description 

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about person centred care, committed to maintaining high standards, and able to work as part of a supportive, resident focused team. How the Role Fits Within the Organisation 

Belvedere Care Home operates with a clear and supportive leadership structure to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality care. This role is an essential part of our care team and contributes directly to the daily wellbeing of residents. 

The role sits within the Care Team, reporting to: 

  • Senior Carers / Team Leaders for daily direction 
  • Deputy Manager for operational oversight 
  • Registered Manager for overall leadership, supervision, and quality assurance 

The role works alongside: 

  • Care Assistants 
  • Domestic and Laundry Teams 
  • Kitchen Staff 
  • Activities Coordinators 
  • Maintenance Team 

Externally, the role supports communication and coordination with: 

  • District Nurses 
  • GPs and community health professionals 
  • Social workers and care managers 
  • Therapists (OT, physio, SALT) 
  • Families and representatives 

This position plays a vital part in ensuring residents receive safe, person-centred, and outcome focused care in line with CQC standards and our organisational values. 

Key Responsibilities 

Resident Care & Support 

  • Provide high quality, person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence, and wellbeing 
  • Support residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration, and emotional needs 
  • Encourage resident choice and involvement in daily routines 
  • Follow individual care plans and contribute to updates and reviews 
  • Observe and report any changes in residents’ health or behaviour to senior staff 

Teamwork & Communication 

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth running of each shift 
  • Participate in handovers, team meetings, and training sessions 
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, and professionals 
  • Support new staff through positive role modelling and teamwork 

Record Keeping & Compliance 

  • Maintain accurate and timely records using Log My Care 
  • Follow all safeguarding, infection control, medication, and health & safety procedures 
  • Support the home in meeting CQC standards and internal quality expectations 
  • Report incidents, concerns, or hazards promptly 

Environment & Wellbeing 

  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment 
  • Support residents during activities, events, and social engagement 
  • Promote a homely atmosphere that reflects residents’ preferences and individuality

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (preferred for senior roles) 
  • Mandatory training provided 
  • Enhanced DBS required 

Training to be Provided

  • Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship Standard
  • Level 1 English and maths Functional Skills (if required)
