Purple patch are looking for an Apprentice to join their fantastic team as a level 2 adult support worker apprentice.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Apprentice Support Worker to join our dedicated team at Purple Patch, an Adult Day Care Centre that provides support and meaningful activities for adults with varying levels of need, including those with physical disabilities or learning disabilities.

This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in adult social care while working towards a recognised qualification. You will be supported throughout your learning journey and gain valuable skills that can lead to a rewarding career in health and social care.


Key Responsibilities:

·         Assist with the daily care and support of our partners, promoting dignity, independence, and well-being.

·         Support individuals with personal care tasks, including toileting (under supervision).

·         Help plan, prepare, and facilitate engaging activities tailored to the interests and abilities of partners.

·         Assist in the serving of meals and drinks and provide support during mealtimes.

·         Escort and assist partners during outings and appointments as needed.

·         Maintain accurate records and report concerns or changes in partners needs to senior staff.

·         Adhere to all health and safety, safeguarding, and confidentiality policies.

·         Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and supervision as part of your learning and development.


Essential Requirements:

·         A genuine interest in working in adult social care.

·         Kind, empathetic, and respectful approach to care.

·         Good communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Willingness to learn and undertake training, including the Care Certificate and a relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification. 

·         Ability to work well as part of a team.

·         Reliability and a positive attitude.


Desirable:

·         Some experience (formal or informal) supporting others in a care or community setting.

·         Basic knowledge of safeguarding and person-centred care (training provided).
