Our Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Bootcamp is aimed at upskilling and building on sector-specific skills within the automotive industry.
Our Hybrid Electric Automotive Training (HEAT) facility at Blackburn College has the latest technology and training equipment for supporting electrical/hybrid teaching and upskilling those who are currently working within the motor vehicle industry.
The Skills Bootcamp will include:
- Tour of our HEAT facilities
- IMI Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Awareness
- IMI Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement
Note: There will be online electronic distance learning content to be undertaken away from the planned sessions

Eligibility
Our Skills Bootcamps are aimed at people in the industry to upskill and achieve a recognised motor vehicle qualification designed by employers. You may be eligible to join a Skills Bootcamp in Lancashire if you:
- Are aged 19 or over
- Live in Lancashire, including Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool*
- Have lived in the UK for 3 or more years, or you are a qualifying refugee
- Can commit the time to complete, and have a real desire to increase your earnings
- Be employed within the automotive industry
Part -funded for Individuals
The cost for the employers is:
SMEs must contribute 10% of course = £122.90
Larger businesses must contribute 30% of the course = £368.69
Self employed = no fee
