Construction and Motor Vehicles international trip to Aruba
Construction and Motor Vehicle students ventured to Aruba.
What an incredible journey our Construction and Motor Vehicle students have had in Aruba. From hands-on work live briefs to immersing themselves in local culture, they’ve made a lasting impact on the island and learned invaluable skills.
Motor Vehicle students helped with Submarine work at De Palm, Learning the intricacies of boat engines and electric subs, swapping oxygen cylinders, and ensuring tight gas connections.
They also worked on car & commercial vehicle maintenance: Servicing safari buses, replacing rear springs on a commercial vehicle, and even tackling fuel filters, skills that’ll go a long way in breakdown recovery.
Construction students engaged in creating an outdoor kitchen and BBQ area for future use, working with both leftover and locally sourced materials.
They also worked on mastering concrete bases, Aruban plumbing, and constructing wooden planters. The result - a fully operational BBQ.
But it wasn’t all work, they embraced the island vibe, learning Papiamento, relaxing on the island beaches, and even trying to spot turtles.
What a truly unforgettable experience for all the students and they’ve left a permanent mark of Blackburn College in Aruba.
