Job Description
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Level 2 Early Years Apprentice to join the team at Hoddlesden St Paul’s CE Primary and Pre School. Support children’s learning and development across the EYFS through creative indoor and outdoor activities. Build positive relationships with children and families, promote inclusion and SEND support, maintain safe stimulating environments, and contribute to observation, assessment, safeguarding and daily care routines.
Duties would include:
- Support the delivery of activities that promote the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) areas of learning, encouraging communication, language, early maths, literacy, curiosity, independence and creativity within the indoor and outdoor learning provision.
- Build warm, supportive relationships with children and communicate professionally with parents and carers while working effectively as part of the Early Years staff team.
- Promote equality, inclusion and participation for all children, including those with SEND, adapting activities and resources to meet different developmental needs.
- Prepare, organise and maintain safe, stimulating and age-appropriate learning environments and resources, including outdoor learning spaces.
- Observe and record children’s learning and behaviour, contributing to assessment, planning and tracking progress in line with the EYFS Framework.
- Ensure children are supervised and safe at all times by following health and safety and safeguarding procedures, recognising and reporting concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
- Support children’s personal care routines, mealtimes and the development of independence skills such as dressing and self-care.
- Attend training and supervision meetings, reflecting on practice and continuing to develop professional skills.
