Looking for an Engineering apprenticeship?
Trevor Bolton Engineering Ltd is looking to hire a Level 2 Engineering Maintenance Operative apprentice. The purpose of this role is to support an entry level apprentice to become a skills maintenance engineer for the company and be one of the team to maintain production continuity and ensuring machines are running at optimum capacity
Job Role:
- First-line maintenance of machinery and equipment, including cleaning and basic servicing to ensure smooth operation.
- Training in fault finding and repair techniques for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Preventative and reactive maintenance, including breakdown response and refurbishment tasks.
- Use of hand tools and workshop equipment, progressing to more advanced machinery such as MIG & TIG welding, spot welding, and PEM machines
- Maintaining a training logbook to track skills and activities learned.
- Participation in continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance environment.
- Adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards at all times
Required Skills & Personal Qualities:
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
- Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Attention to detail, willingness to learn, and flexibility to support team needs.
- IT literacy for logging maintenance activities and accessing digital resources
- Must demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude
- Be ready to take on some engineering challenges
- Passionate about engineering and has some knowledge from a hobby or other personal interests.
Working Schedule:
Monday to Thursday: 07:30-16:20
Friday: 07:30- 13:45
Qualifications:
GCSE Mathematics grade 4 / Functional Skills Level 2
GCSE English grade 4 / Functional Skills Level 2
GCSE Science grade 4
