Our HNC Construction Management for England Qualification is HTQ accredited, which means that it has been developed by employers and awarding bodies, so you’ll get the right training, knowledge, and skills to succeed in the workplace.

  • Overview

    The purpose of the HNC Construction Management for England (HTQ Status) is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals who are able to meet the demands of employers in the construction sector and adapt to a constantly changing world.

    The qualification will provide you with core skills required for a range of careers in construction, specifically those related to management and operations. It will expand on knowledge and understanding within the construction environment.

    It will help you develop confidence to work across different business functions and to lead, manage, respond to change, and tackle a range of complex construction situations

    Develop an understanding of the major impact that new digital technologies have on the construction environment as well as equip students with knowledge and understanding of culturally diverse organisations, cross-cultural issues, diversity and values, and to allow flexible study to meet local and specialist needs.

    The qualification aims to widen access to higher education and enhance future career prospects and progression.

    You'll gain practical skills through workplace scenarios, alongside independent and direct study.

  • Entry Requirements

    You'll typically have one of the following:

    • A BTEC level 3 in Construction and the Built Environment or another related subject,
    • All applicants should have GCSE English Language and Mathematics grades A*-C or level 9-4.
    • Or an Access to HE in a relevant subject.
    • T Level with overall grade Pass

    Non-standard entry applicants should demonstrate:

    • Relevant work experience
    • Ability to study at Level 4
    • You'll need to attend an interview to determine suitability and capability
  • How will I be assessed?

    Your work will be continually assessed throughout the year with written assignments, presentations, practical experimentation and portfolios of work.

  • What can I do next?

    • Enter a career in construction or a related field. This could include Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Association of Project Management (APM) among many others.
    • Continue your current employment having upskilled
    • Achieve excellence in the provision of level 4 and 5 courses to provide you with a technical and professional skills base for a successful career and progression with a number of construction institutions
    • Progress to a Level 5 qualification
