Students learn and extend Python programming skills which are tested alongside knowledge of algorithms and computational thinking in the second of two examinations and also through the completion of a coding project.
The first examination is more traditional, allowing students to demonstrate a good knowledge of network topologies, ethical issues, knowledge of storage devices and more. The focus of the course is on ‘science’ and ‘computational thinking’. Accordingly students who have enjoyed sciences and maths at school are likely to enjoy this subject.
