We are delighted to be delivering T-Level qualifications in Digital: Digital Production, Design and Development from September 2023. This is a two-year qualification that will include a core content and an occupational specialism content that is specific to the industry alongside a high-quality industry placement.

We are delighted to be delivering T-Level qualifications in Digital: Digital Production, Design and Development from September 2023.
This is a two-year qualification that will include a core content and an occupational specialism content that is specific to the industry alongside a high quality industry placement.
This qualification is designed to offer you support in concentrating your learning within areas of IT; students who wish to progress to a career in the Digital Sector, with a focus on Software Design and Development. This programme has been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses to ensure that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for the real workplace.
Alongside your academic studies, you will have the opportunity to visit Universities, take part in World Skills competitions and go on trips within the UK and abroad.
It is a level 3 qualification equivalent to 3 A-Levels.

What will I study?

You will study:
- Core theory, concepts and skills for an industry area
- Specialist skills and knowledge for a career
- An industry placement with a local employer in the Digital Sector for a minimum of 315 hours.
Students who pass all the elements of their T-Level will get a nationally recognised certificate showing an overall grade of pass, merit or distinction. It will also set out the details of what you have achieved on the course.
The T-Level in Digital: Digital Production, Design and Development has two mandatory components:
Core Component
Paper 1: Digital Analysis, Legalisation and Emerging Issues
- Problem Solving
- Introduction to Programming
- Emerging issues and impact of digital
- Legislation and regulatory requirements
Paper 2: The Business Environment
- Business context
- Data
- Digital Environments
- Security
Core Project – Employer Set Project
Occupational Specialist Component
The Occupational Specialist Component content covers the knowledge and skills needed to achieve threshold competence across the following areas:
- Analyse a problem and designing a solution
- Developing the solution
- Gathering feedback to inform future development
- Evaluating feedback to inform further development

Entry Requirements

You may also have achieved a vocational Technical qualification at Level 2 at Pass and above in BTEC Tech Award in Digital Information Technology.

How will I be assessed?
The core content is assessed through an examination and a practical employer-set project. The Occupational Specialism is assessed through a project that is created in conjunction with digital employers.

What can I do next?
Once you have completed the Level 3 T-Level qualification, you could apply for a degree apprenticeship in areas such as Software development and Cyber Security. You can also apply for a role such as Junior Developer, Junior Web Developer, Junior Mobile App Developer, data analyst, database administrator or apply to a range of universities.
