Overview

The CIH Level 4 Certificate in Housing is a recognised professional qualification designed for people working in, or aspiring to, supervisory and management roles within the housing sector.

The qualification develops a deeper understanding of the legal, regulatory, policy and professional environment in which housing organisations operate, while strengthening the skills required to manage services effectively.

It is suitable for housing professionals across local authorities, housing associations, supported housing, private and independent housing providers and other housing-related organisations.

The qualification is particularly valuable for employers looking to strengthen professional standards, develop managers and support workforce planning and succession.

The CIH Level 4 Certificate in Housing meets the qualification requirements of the social housing Competence and Conduct Standard.
What will I study?
Learners complete a minimum of six units comprising four mandatory units and at least two optional units.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should normally have experience of working in housing or a housing-related sector, preferably at supervisory or management level.

Previous completion of the CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice, another relevant Level 3 qualification, or equivalent professional experience may provide suitable preparation for study at Level 4.

Suitability will be discussed with applicants before enrolment.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment takes place throughout the programme and may include written assignments, tasks, portfolios and professional discussion.

There are no formal examinations.

Assessment encourages learners to apply housing theory, legislation, policy and professional practice to real issues within their organisation.
