The CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice is a recognised professional housing qualification designed for people working in frontline or operational housing and housing-related roles.
The programme develops a broad understanding of the housing sector alongside the practical and professional knowledge required to deliver high-quality housing services.
It is suitable for employees working across local authorities, housing associations, supported housing, homelessness services, private rented housing, property management and other housing-related organisations.

What will I study?

To achieve the qualification, learners complete eight units comprising two mandatory units and six optional units.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should normally have relevant experience of working within housing or a housing-related environment and/or previous study at Level 2 or above.
Suitability for the programme will be discussed before enrolment to ensure learners are studying at the appropriate level.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment takes place throughout the programme and may include written assignments, tasks, portfolios and professional discussion.
There are no formal examinations.
Learners are supported by experienced housing tutors throughout their studies and are encouraged to relate their learning directly to their professional role.

What can I do next?

On successful completion, learners may progress to the CIH Level 4 Certificate in Housing or other higher-level housing and professional qualifications.
Successful learners may also be eligible to become a CIH Certified Practitioner (CertCIH).
