Wedding Photography (Introduction)

Are you considering running your own Wedding Photography Business or want to take great photographs at your friends’ wedding, then if so, this course is for you.

This course will give you an insight into the camera skills and equipment required to photograph a wedding, organise group shots and other key shots during the day.  It will help you to build up your wedding portfolio, getting you ready to set up your own business. 

Alongside the photography, it will also give you an insight as to what is required to set up and run your own wedding photography business covering  aspects such as business branding, marketing, insurance, financial and other considerations.

This series of workshops will give you an insight into the Wedding Photography Business.

• Introduction to the different types and styles of Wedding Photography.
• Understand the basic Equipment that may be required when photographing a wedding.
• A basic introduction to branding and marketing, how to promote your business.
• A basic introduction to product suppliers – photograph presentation, USB, Albums and Prints, online Client sales.
• Brief overview of and introduction to potential business start-ups funding sources & costs, guidelines and legalities, Insurance, and client contracts.
• Create wedding packages that work, building effective price lists, price albums to encourage add-on sales.
• Pose and take portrait shots of the “Bride and Groom”.
• How to pose and organise and take Reportage photographs
• Shoot the Wedding (Create images to start help build your Wedding Portfolio). Plan and prepare for the event, type of photography, basic key shot list/ timings.
• Introduction to creative techniques and compilation of a standard shot list for weddings.

Equipment: This workshop is suitable for any camera with a dedicated hot-shoe mounted flash (a flash unit which is compatible with your camera). If you don't have a hot-shoe mounted flash, we will show you how to get the best from your camera's built-in flash, although this may limit the range of shots you will be able to take.   

What will I get at the end of the course? Introduction to the Wedding Photography Industry - Blackburn College Certificate.

There are no entry requirements, this course is for anyone who is interested in Wedding Photography, Professional or Amateur.
