Overview

Engineering Level 2 is ideal if you wish to develop your career within the engineering sector.

This qualification will allow you to learn, develop and practice the skills required for further study, employment and career progression in the engineering sector.

You will also learn through undertaking a variety of collaborative activities and research tasks. You will receive a number of mock tasks to measure your understanding and help prepare you for the formal assessment.

All tasks require a range of skills such as communication, organisation, independence, time management, planning and research. To achieve a Merit or Distinction Grade requires more detail including knowing how to explain, analyse, evaluate and justify.

What will I study?

You will develop your understanding and practical experience of specific engineering technologies.

  • Engineering technology
  • Fabrication and welding technology
  • Using computer-aided manufacturing processes

Enrichment/Work Placements

You will also gain real-world engineering experience through a 37 hours work placement which will really boost your knowledge, skills and your CV.

You will be assessed by two exams and a range of assignments in different formats including practicals.
