Looking for an Engineering Apprenticeship

Including Fire Detection systems, Protect are seeking two engineering apprentices to join their existing entry level team to undergo the Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship with a view to progressing to HNC.
Duties
• Conduct functional and electrical testing on electronic assemblies and finished products
• Diagnose faults to component or circuit level using appropriate tools and techniques
• Record and categorise failures, identifying root causes where possible
• Escalate complex issues to engineers with clear supporting evidence
• Accurately record test results and maintain traceability.
• Set up and maintain test equipment and fixtures.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated and within certification requirements.
• Support routine maintenance of test equipment.
• Follow standard operating procedures and test instructions.
• Identify opportunities to improve test efficiency, quality, and reliability.
• Assist in developing or refining test processes and fixtures.
• Work in accordance with quality standards and internal processes.
• Follow ESD, safety, and laboratory procedures at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Working Hours
• Start and finishing times TBC – 40 hours per week- £8/hour

Qualifications Required
• Essential
GCSE’s Level 4 or above in Maths, English & Science
Complete College entrance aptitude assessment
Things to Consider / Working Conditions
• Primarily based in a factory environment
• May involve bench-based work and use of test rigs
• Occasional support for production or development teams
