When you come into college to enrol, you need to complete your DBS check if you are applying for Childcare, Health and Social Care and Sport Study Programmes.
DBS checks are a compulsory Government requirement to ensure that you have a clear criminal record and are safe to work with children and/or vulnerable adults. You will need to have received your DBS certificate before you can go on work placement.
What to bring to enrolment - You will need to bring in several forms of identification documents as evidence. Please see the list enclosed. Also bring a list of all the addresses you have lived at over the past 5 years and the dates that you moved in and out (month and year).
The cost is £20, please bring a credit/debit card with you so that you can pay on the day.
All Health and Social Care, Childcare and Sport students need to have an Enhanced DBS before they can go out on Work Placement. Blackburn College will help you complete the application form, check your identity documents and subsidise the cost. You must complete this DBS check at enrolment to ensure that you receive your DBS certificate in time for the start of your placement.
