Congratulations! Your hard work is almost over and you'll soon be graduating and celebrating your success. Graduation will take place on Tuesday 17th October at King George's Hall. 

On the day there will be 2 ceremonies. Which ceremony you attend will depend on which course you have completed. Your invitation will tell you which ceremony you will be attending.

Order of the day

  • Gowning in the Curve
    Here you will receive your gown and meet with everyone from your course.

  • Photography and Videography in UCBC
    You will get your professional photograph taken and also be given the opportunity to tell us on camera about your amazing achievement and what you're going to do next.

  • Groups to gather in classrooms 
    Here the excitement will build as you get registered ready for the procession to King George's Hall! 

  • Procession from UCBC to King George's Hall
    Follow the drummers and parade through campus with pride in your gown.

  • Graduation Ceremony 
    Listen to a motivational guest speaker and receive your award on stage! 

  • Celebration event in the Pavilion with live entertainment
    Strawberries and cream will be served along with a glass of something fizzy for you and your friends and family to celebrate together!

FAQs

Where does the ceremony take place?

Your graduation ceremony will take place right around the corner from campus at King Georges Hall, Northgate, Blackburn, BB2 1AA.

What time is my ceremony?


You will be sent an email notifying you of your ceremony time and any other additional details you need to be aware of a few weeks after you have registered.

Can your invited guests sit alongside you during the ceremony?

Guests will be seated in a separate section behind the graduating students and academic staff, but don't worry, they'll be in cheering distance!

Are guests given seat numbers?

Guests will be seated approximately 45 minutes before the ceremony and will be able to chose their own seats.

Will I be able to pick up my award certificate at the ceremony?

Certificates aren't given out at the graduation ceremony but are posted to your home address, if you'd like to get in touch with any queries about your award certificate then please contact us at  graduation@blackburn.ac.uk

Can I still access the platform on which I would receive my award if I have mobility issues?

There is ramp access to the platform, however please email graduation@blackburn.ac.uk to let us know if you need any special requirements.

How many tickets are available for each student/and is it possible to get extra tickets?

There are currently an unlimited number of extra ticket allocations per student, and will cost £10.00 for each additional guest invited.

Will the graduation ceremony be live streamed?

Yes, the ceremony will be live streamed - Details as to which platform it will be available on will be released closer to the time.

Will I be able to pick up my award certificate at the ceremony?

You are able to collect your certificate before your ceremony.  Certificates not collected will be filed in the College Registry for 10 years, you must bring photo ID to collect.
