This course includes all aspects of Adobe Creative including Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

  • Entry Requirements

    Applicants must have basic PC or Mac skills, including a fundamental understanding of a computers operating system, how to launch an application, create and save files. Applicants will need their own pen drive (flash drive) for this course so that they can save their work as they go along and use the documentation at home.

  • What will I study?

    Adobe Photoshop Skills will introduce you to the essential concepts of the 'magical' software that is Adobe Photoshop CS6. Course includes Photoshop CS6 interface, the workspace, working with layers, shapes, text/effects, pen tool basics, marquee tool basics, making simple selections, more on the pen tool and paths, touching up photographic images, custom colour on black and white images, cut and crop, more on making and working with selections, more on touching up photographic images, the blur tool, collages, built in effects, custom effects, layer masks, cartoon images and more on custom effects, simple animations, summary of course. Throughout the course you will be given exercises and tasks to check your knowledge and extra support will be offered to any individual who may be struggling. It would be preferable if you have a copy of Adobe Photoshop CS6 at home so you can practice your skills week to week.

    Adobe InDesign enables you to create and print a variety of tasks such as business stationery, greetings cards and leaflets. You can also publish professional quality layouts for newsletters and brochures. Whether you are new to layout design or migrating from a similar program like Quark Xpress this short course will help you on your way. The course will include design interface; creating documents; adding text and graphics; drawing paths, lines and shapes; master pages; using layers; working with text; colours and gradients; output to PDF.

    Adobe Illustrator provides a basic introduction to drawing and design with Illustrator. The course content will include: Illustrator interface; creating documents; drawing and selection essentials; editing paths; text editing; blends and gradients; saving work. Applicants must have basic PC or Mac skills, including a fundamental understanding of a computers operating system, how to launch an application, create and save files.
