We offer a range of programmes in English and Maths skills leading up to GCSE and beyond. GSCEs in English and Maths are required in many roles and you can study these in the evening or in the daytime at Blackburn College.
Having a good working knowledge of English and Maths are two of the most important skills sets a person can have and open opportunities to progressive jobs and careers.

English exams
- English Paper 1 – Thursday 21 May
- English Paper 2 – Friday 5 June
Students should arrive between 8am and 8.30am so they can be ready and seated in good time. All exams start at 9.30am.
Maths exams
- Maths Paper 1 – Thursday 14 May
- Maths Paper 2 – Wednesday 3 June
- Maths Paper 3 – Wednesday 10 June

All students are able to get additional Maths and English support at our unique Maths and English Success Centre!
Location: The Exchange, Beacon Centre
Open: 8.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday
Drop in for:
- 1:1 or Group tutoring – come alone or come with your friends
- Revision resources that are tailored to you!
- A quiet study space where you sit and complete work
- Help with study plans including schedules and organisation
- Past papers are also available and can be marked by our Success Centre staff who can also run through answers and discuss areas of improvement
