Overview
The City & Guilds 7290-83 Level 3 Award in Diagnosis, Repair & Recalibration of Advanced Driver Assist Systems is designed for those who are looking to develop their knowledge and skills to allow them to safely test, diagnose, repair and recalibrate Advanced Driver Assist Systems.
This qualification covers the competence and knowledge required to identify and rectify faults occurring in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) by carrying out diagnostic activities and then removing, replacing, and recalibrating sensors. ADAS includes systems for driver safety, pedestrian safety, motion/stability control and collision avoidance systems.
You will study in our world-class £5.5m Regional Automotive Technology Hub (RATH), which was developed collaboratively with leading car manufacturers. The Hybrid Electric Automotive Training (HEAT) areas will provide you with state-of-the-art workshops that look and feel just like industry.
Within our world-class facilities, you will get to work on our brand new range of electric/hybrid vehicles, enabling you to develop a future-proofed set of skills.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification and you are not expected to have any prior knowledge or experience, however an interest in the subject area is advisable.
How will I be assessed?
You will be required to sit an online multiple-choice test and practical assessment.
What can I do next?
This qualification allows you to progress on to employment and/or career progression in the repair, diagnosis, and rectification of ADAS systems. Examples include Specialist Technician or Master Technician.
You may also consider the Level 4 qualification, which further develops their knowledge and skills within a technical role, carrying out diagnosis, repair and testing of high voltage components on Electric/Hybrid vehicles.
