Sexual Harassment
What is Sexual Harassment?
It is a form of sexual violence encompassing any sexual activity or act that occurs without consent. Sexual harassment is a broad term that can encompass physical, verbal and emotional actions.
It encompasses actions that violate someone’s dignity or create an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment. It does not need to be related to a protected characteristic (such as sex or sexual orientation) to qualify as harassment.
We do not tolerate any form of sexual harassment at Blackburn College.
Colleges and Universities have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of students. We will take complaints seriously and ensure fairness and sensitivity. Any complaint will be addressed promptly.
The college has a specific Sexual Violence, Harassment and Abuse Policy
