ILM Level 5 - Certificate in Leadership & Management

The Level 5 Award, Certificate or Diploma in Leadership and Management is designed for practising middle managers, helping them to develop their skills and experience, improve performance and prepare for senior management responsibilities.

During this course, you will develop the knowledge and skills needed to become a more effective manager and leader. You will learn about the role of middle managers in achieving organisational goals, improve your communication and presentation skills, and explore how to support and develop the performance of others. You will also learn how to evaluate organisational performance, manage quality improvements, and plan and implement projects that meet customer needs. Throughout the programme, you will reflect on your own professional development and identify opportunities to enhance your management skills.

Learners can achieve a Certificate by completing either Block A or Block B alongside the mandatory units. To achieve the Diploma, learners must complete both Block A and Block B together with the mandatory units.

Candidates would normally have completed the ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership & Management and/or be employed in a managerial role. An informal discussion with the Programme Leader is recommended to ensure that the qualification meets individual needs.
