The Level 7 Award in Leadership and Management is designed to provide scope and opportunity for senior managers and leaders to focus on their own specific strategic leadership and senior management development needs. It is based on ILM research into effective leadership and management development whilst developing critical thinking and research skills.

To complete this module, attendees should have completed the ILM Level 5 Certificate at a minimum and have at least 5 years senior management experience. If you are unsure if you’ll be eligible, please request a conversation with the course leader before making your booking.
Who is this qualification for?
The Level 7 Award in Leadership and Management is designed to provide scope and opportunity for senior managers and leaders to focus on their own specific strategic leadership and senior management development needs. It is based on ILM research into effective leadership and management development whilst developing critical thinking and research skills. The focus of the programme is developing senior leadership and management capability, through reflection followed by action leading to changed behaviours. The emphasis is on context: what matters ‘now’ to the learner. The ‘now’ may be self, others or a wider organisational issue. Networking which ILM recognises as an important management capability is recognised as is on-going involvement with CPD and the increasing role of informal and social learning.

Analyse the strategic context of a learner specified organisation using theoretical approaches appropriate to Level 7
Identify the espoused strategic leadership and management capabilities in the context of the learner specified organisation
Identify the espoused strategic leadership and management capabilities in the context of the learner specified organisation
Session 2
Identify the espoused strategic leadership and management capabilities in the context of the learner specified organisation
Session 3
formulate a robust plan for the leadership and/or management of self or organisation in the specified context taking account of the needs of specified stakeholders
Critically evaluate the sources of information and development available to senior leaders and managers including professional network(s) and how they might inform the investigation
Session 4
Demonstrate how engagement with a professional network has impacted your own thinking with regard to leadership and management
Critically evaluate the impact of the implementation of a plan (own or case study)
Session 5
Communicate the impact of the investigation using appropriate media to specified stakeholders
