    Are you interested in learning how businesses work and developing the skills needed for employment, self-employment or further study? The Skills for Growth Adults Business Management Entry Level 1 course is designed to introduce learners to the fundamentals of business in a practical and engaging way.

  • What will I study?

    You will explore how businesses operate, develop enterprise and employability skills, and gain confidence in communication, teamwork, problem-solving and digital technologies. Through a range of interactive activities and a hands-on business project, you will build the knowledge and confidence needed to progress into further education, training or employment.

    Throughout the course, you will cover a range of business-related topics. These include some of these examples:  

    Business Fundamentals

    • Different types of businesses 
    • Products, services and customers 

    Business and Employability Skills

    Enterprise Challenge Project 

    As part of the course, you will take part in a practical enterprise project where you will plan, develop and promote your own business idea. 

    Project activities include: 

    • Choosing a product or service 
    • Identifying customers 
    • Designing promotional materials 
    • Calculating costs and prices 
    • Presenting your business idea 
    • Reflecting on your project outcomes
  • Entry Requirements

    There are no formal qualifications required for this course. Applicants should have an interest in administration, office work and developing workplace skills. An initial assessment and discussion will help ensure the course is suitable for your individual needs and goals.

    Assessment takes place throughout the course and may include:
