Blackburn College are pleased to partner with 909 Cars in pursuit of their next L2 Autocare Apprentice.

909 Cars is a small garage based in Hapton, Burnley. The business operates to service the local and wider community, maintaining cars and vans. Including services, diagnostics repairs and parts replacement, crash repairs, paint work etc.

In addition, the Company also breaks up cars and rebuilds cars to customer requirements and sells used parts and components to the public via online sales.

THIS IS AN IDEAL OPPORTUNITY FOR AN APPRENTICE WITH A STRONG PASSION FOR CAR REPAIRS AND REBUILDS

 Job description

The duties and learning experiences associated with this position include, but are not limited to the following:

·         Working alongside qualified technicians with the investigation, repair and service of vehicles including vintage and new vehicles – primarily older vehicles

·         Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and efficient workshop and adhere to the garages business processes (e.g. environmental awareness, servicing a vehicle, record keeping, customer contact, documentation completed, quality) and standard workshop operations

·         Assisting with MOT preparation

·         Use diagnostic, mechanical and electrical measuring equipment

·         Inspect and prepare a vehicle to the required quality standard for handover to the customer e.g. following a service, complex repair, quality control etc.

·         Service and maintain a vehicle

·         Remove repair/replace components in line with manufacturer’s standards

·         Investigate symptoms of vehicle fault(s) and identify the likely underlying causes

 

Additional duties as part of the role at the garage:

·         Support the owner with online sales and distribution of parts

·         Travel with the owner to view vehicles potentially for purchase

·         Will learn how to weld and fabricate with mentor to a high standard

Skills Required

Basic knowledge of tools and vehicle components

 Personal Qualities

Excellent work ethic

Must! Have a passion for motor vehicles and be able to demonstrate basic knowledge

Good communication skills verbal and written

Working Hours

Monday – Friday

Qualifications Required

GCSE Grade 4 in Maths / English desirable  

Future Prospects

Progression to Level 3 and permanent role
