Frank Avison & Sons is a long-established building contractor family business who have many years’ experience in the building industry. They are looking for an incredibly enthusiastic apprentice to join their team and learn all aspects of Carpentry & Joinery, whilst supporting the joiners and builders with various tasks.
Job Description
- An apprentice supports skilled carpenters by performing tasks such as measuring and cutting materials, assembling structures, and installing components like doors, windows, staircases, floor joists, hinges and all other tasks relevant to the trade.
- Handling, maintaining and storing construction tools and materials.
- Preparing and organised work site
- Working with instructions/drawings and plans to meet customer specifications and requirements.
- Adhering to all health and safety requirements on site and adhering to the employers’ health and safety procedures.
- Will be required to keep the work area clean for the trades people and be ready to start at the bottom and work alongside their mentors
Personal Qualities
- Basic knowledge of tools and other building materials
- Excellent work ethic
- A passion for joinery and be able to demonstrate basic knowledge
- Good communication skills verbal and written
- Attentive
- Demonstrate sound customer liaison skills
Things to Consider
The employer mainly works at customer sites so, travel will be required and local pick up will also be arranged
Required Qualifications
GCSE Grade 3 English and Maths (predicted/actual)
