Looking for an Engineering apprenticeship?
Airtech Nonwovens is based in Blackburn and manufactures nonwoven materials. Their products are supplied to a variety of markets including filtration, geotextiles, construction, and automotive. As an apprentice you will learn and obtain experience in the fundamentals of both mechanical and electrical engineering, and you will have the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge, skills and behaviours you have acquired so far.
Responsibilities
- Learning to read electrical drawings/diagrams
- Systematically identifying and resolving problems in our equipment, systems and processes
- Prepare work areas
- Installing wiring and components
- Testing electrical systems
- Ensure health and safety compliance
- Maintain a safe working environment
- To conduct general house keeping
Skills & Personal Qualities
Engineering activities are desirable but not essential. This may include:
- Hobbies or voluntary work
- Previous work experience
- Engineering related school subjects
- Good IT skills with a working knowledge of MS applications –
- Word/Excel
- Strong desire to learn and develop, and an evident interest in engineering as a subject
- Ability to demonstrate a can-do attitude and approach
Qualifications:
GCSE Mathematics grade 5
GCSE English Language grade 4
GCSE Science grade 4
Two additional GCSEs at grade 4 or above
