This assessment will enable gas engineers to expand their scope of work to include (HTR1) Domestic Fires and Heaters. The assessment will cover free open flue gas fires, (radiant/convector), open flue ILFE fires, open flue DPE Fires, convector heaters and stoves, balanced flue gas fires and balanced fan assisted wall heater and flueless gas fires with and without catalytic converters.

A re-assessment for Fires & Heaters (HTR1), which is required every five years, is also available at a reduced cost.

What will I study?

Training is available prior to the carrying out the assessment if required.

Entry requirements

Must already be accredited with either:

  • (CNN1) Domestic Gas Safety
  • (COCDN1) Change over for Commercial Core to Domestic Gas.

For re-assessment, which is required every five years, candidates must already be accredited with Domestic Gas Cooking Appliances (CKR1).

How will I be assessed?

Candidates will complete a series of written and practical assessments.

What can I do next?

Candidates may consider looking to add other appliances such as (CKR1) Cookers , (DAH1) Warm Air Heating etc. to expand their scope of work.
