An IOSH Managing Safely training course gives people in positions of responsibility an overview of how to identify, evaluate and control workplace risks. It is aimed at anyone with responsibility for other employees, including team leaders, supervisors and managers.

  • Overview

    The course is conducted entirely online and requires 24 hours of online study time after which you get access to a 30 question multiple-choice exam and you have to complete a small practical assignment. Participants have six months from enrolment to finish the training, and there are regular reminders to tell you how much time is left. This is an IOSH accredited course and once successfully completed you will receive a certificate from IOSH exactly the same as the one given to students who have completed classroom courses.

    An IOSH Managing Safely certificate is a sought-after accreditation and supports continued professional development.

    There are no entry requirements to book this course and you do not need to register for IOSH membership.

    Once you register and pay for the course, you get a secure login for your learning account. This is compatible with computers, tablets and smartphones.The IOSH Managing Safely online learning programme includes interactive exercises, revision tasks, informative video clips and additional reference materials surrounding the key issues.

  • What will I study?

    The IOSH Managing Safely e-learning course is comprised of seven modules:

    • Module 1: Introducing managing safely
    • Module 2: Assessing risks
    • Module 3: Controlling risks
    • Module 4: Understanding responsibilities
    • Module 5: Understanding hazards
    • Module 6: Investigating incidents
    • Module 7: Measuring Performance

    Modules can be accessed at any time and from any location with a suitable internet connection.
