Unforgettable memories in Morzine.
Earlier in 2026, our Catering and Hospitality students travelled to Morzine in the French Alps for an immersive private‑chef and chalet‑hospitality experience. Over the week, they balanced hands‑on cooking, chalet operations, and daily skiing, learning directly from industry professionals while living and working in a real alpine environment.
From preparing multi‑course meals to hosting guests and exploring local ingredients, the trip gave students a unique blend of culinary training and mountain adventure, an unforgettable opportunity to grow their skills and confidence.
Touchdown in the Alps
Our Catering & Hospitality students have officially hit the piste! After arriving in Morzine, a charming, traditional alpine town in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, the group wasted no time getting stuck into their first ski lesson. A mix of nerves, excitement and fresh mountain air set the tone for the week ahead.
The day wrapped up with chalet‑style alpine cuisine, the perfect reward after learning the basics on the slopes. This trip blends skills, snow and seriously good food, the ideal environment for aspiring private chefs.
Danny’s First Day on the Slopes
Danny shared how his first day in Morzine went. He’s already picking up new skills that will support his future career, especially as he hopes to move into private cheffing. For him, this is a once‑in‑a‑lifetime opportunity to learn, grow and experience something completely different.
Chalet Check‑In with George
Reporting live from the chalet, George gave us an update on how the trip is going. Fresh from winning the Hospitality and Tourism Student Award 2026, he’s been embracing everything Morzine has to offer, from skiing to fondue nights, and gearing up for the students’ upcoming chalet takeover.
Dinner in the Chalet — Fondue Night
Charcuterie in the chalet! Students prepared their own dinner: traditional Swiss fondue paired with charcuterie boards and a classic French salad. It was a chance to sharpen knife skills, work with new ingredients and create a dish many had never attempted before.
Holly and Amy, hosts at Chalet Laurent, have been having the best time with our students. This experience is brand new for many of them, and the hands‑on teaching has been invaluable. The students are gradually taking over the chalet operations themselves, a huge confidence boost and a real‑world taste of hospitality.
A fantastic effort from everyone, and a delicious result.
Kitchen Takeover — Danny & Arshmaan
Danny and Arshmaan stepped up for their first full kitchen takeover. They cooked, plated and hosted a three‑course meal for the whole group, a huge achievement. After service, they reflected on improvements and created a checklist for next time. A brilliant professional habit to build early on.
Great work from both of them!
