  • Overview

  • What will I study?

The course consists of 8 units in total that initially introduce learners to a range of materials, processes and technical skills used in a range of art and design projects and also to research for art and design ideas development. In the middle section of the course, learners are challenged to develop ideas and create finished work in 2 dimensions (eg drawing, textiles, graphics, and photography), 3 dimensions (eg ceramics, sculpture or ideas for the design of 3d products) and time based problems (eg animation, video or time lapse photography). This stage encourages learners to think about what they are good at before producing a specialist option final project response to a tutor set assignment. Learners can specialise in graphics, textiles, fashion, 3D, interiors or time base media. This is in preparation to more in depth study at level 3.
