Taught in small classes, you will study vital functional skills in English and Maths, alongside core IT units including:-
- Unit 1 Improving Productivity
- Unit 18 Database Software
- Unit 24 Drawing and Planning
- Unit 27 Design software
- Unit 30 Desk Top Publishing
- Unit 42 IT Security
- Unit 45 Using Mobile IT Devices
- Unit 58 PowerPoint Software
- Unit 69 Spreadsheet and Graphs
- Unit 80 Web Page Design
- Personal and Social Development
You will also benefit from trips and events; seminars; and other cross college activities that take place on campus.

How will I be assessed?
Throughout the year, your work will create a portfolio, which your tutor will assess.
The tutors on your course will use your practical work to assess where your strengths and weaknesses lie, aiding progression and development. At the end of the year, your portfolio will be examined by an external verifier to confirm your success and completion.
There are no exams on this course.

What can I do next?
If you successfully complete the IT and Preparation for Work Skills Programme, with your tutor's recommendation, you will then be able to progress onto the Level 2 course or enter employment.
