Overview
The broad purpose of the occupation is to support the business to meet its objectives through the people agenda and relative initiatives.
People expertise will be used to provide advice, views, and challenge to the business, enabling the role to be involved in a wide range of projects and tasks.

What will I study?
Some of the modules you will study are:
- Implement people strategies and equality objectives for the business.
- Develop and implement annual people plans and projects. Align to business and people strategies ensuring equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Maintain up to date people policies, ensuring developments in people practice are embedded.
- Contribute to workforce design and succession planning, identifying future trends and issues across the organisation.
- Support the improvement of the agility and productivity of workforces and organisations, to enable innovation and collaborative working using technology.
- Enable the 3 pillars of sustainability (Economy, Society and Environment) and social value.

Apprentices without Level 2 Maths and English will need to achieve these prior to taking the End-Point Assessment.

Successful completion of this standard enables the apprentice to become a CIPD Associate Member (Assoc CIPD) and progress to higher level management roles:

Human Resources Officer
If you enjoy working with people and you're looking for an office role, this could be the perfect job for you. Human resources (HR) officers, also known as personnel officers, look after hiring and developing employees. They look after their welfare too.
Most employers will want you to have qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. You will also need to have a good standard of general education. Previous experience of office work would help.
To become a human resources officer, you need to be tactful and friendly. Sometimes you’ll need to be firm too. You will also need to be careful with confidential information.
